Online Beginning Sewing
10-week Self-paced course with 6 month access
This class is perfect for beginners. No experience necessary!! You will learn how to use your machine. Make a pillowcase apron/caddy, drawstring pant (Butterick 6513) and a sample book. You will learn how to construct pockets, buttonholes, elastic casings and hems in addition to learning several seam and seam finish techniques. The course includes over 15 hours of video instruction instruction and many educational resources. Students will provide materials according to the supply list.
Skills Taught: Reading a commercial pattern, simple pattern alterations, fabric prep, pattern layout, reading pattern envelope and symbols, machine parts, machine stitching, hand sewing, seams, seam finishes, pockets, casings, hems, drawstrings, darts, centered zippers.
