In-Person Classes
Welcome to my haven of creativity! Here, the sewing machine becomes an extension of one’s imagination, stitching together not just fabric but also a sense of accomplishment and community. Below, you will find information and registration details for my in-person sewing classes in Grand Rapids, MI.
Beginning Sewing: January 25-March 1
Adult Beginning Sewing! Come learn to sew in my studio. This class is perfect for beginners. No experience necessary!! You will learn how to use your machine, or you may rent one for class use for a low fee. Make a drawstring pant (Simplicity 9202) and learn how to construct pockets, buttonholes, elastic casings, and hems. The course includes 15 hours of instruction and the sewing pattern needed for the class. Students will provide materials according to the supply list. Space is limited to 6 students.
Class meets Saturdays 9:30am-noon

The class meets in my home studio. The studio is downstairs in my basement in my pet-friendly home (dog and cat).
Sewing Knits: April 19-May 24
Come learn to sew with knit fabrics by making zippered hoodie McCall’s M8070. In this 6 week course, you will learn basic pattern alterations, how to lay out a pattern and cut knits, sew with knits on your sewing machine, apply a pocket and zipper, sew sleeves and create cuffs and a hem band. You will learn ways to customize your hoodie so you can let your creativity shine. This course includes 15 hours of instruction and sewing pattern McCall’s M8070. Upon registration, you will be provided with a supply list.
