In-Person Classes
Welcome to my haven of creativity! Here, the sewing machine becomes an extension of one’s imagination, stitching together not just fabric but also a sense of accomplishment and community. Below, you will find information and registration details for my in-person sewing classes in Grand Rapids, MI.
One-day Open Studio Sewing Retreat: April 5
Come sew with me and others in my open studio! Bring a friend, a project, a question, or a curiosity about a new skill. This is a time to connect and have fun! There will be no lessons or fittings during this time.
Please come prepared with your sewing supplies and equipment. You will have a table to work at, access to irons and ironing boards, sergers, a large cutting table, and specialty equipment available upon request. Please notify Tammie if there is something specific you would like to use and work with.
Since this is a 5-hour studio time, please bring a snack and beverage if you want a snack break.
New participants are required to fill out a Liability Release Form. This will be sent after registration.
Please note that my studio is downstairs in my pet-friendly home (dog and cat).
Sewing Knits: April 19-May 24
Come learn to sew with knit fabrics by making zippered hoodie McCall’s M8070. In this 6 week course, you will learn basic pattern alterations, how to lay out a pattern and cut knits, sew with knits on your sewing machine, apply a pocket and zipper, sew sleeves and create cuffs and a hem band. You will learn ways to customize your hoodie so you can let your creativity shine. This course includes 15 hours of instruction and sewing pattern McCall’s M8070. Upon registration, you will be provided with a supply list.
Class meets Saturdays 9:30am-noon
April 19-May 24, 2025
The class meets in my home studio. The studio is downstairs in my basement in my pet-friendly home (dog and cat).
